SourceForge.net today reported that the two Microsoft projects released under the company's "Shared Source Initiative" are in the top 5% of active projects hosted on SourceForge.net. SourceForge.net is the collaborative development site founded to support and foster Open Source development projects. The site currently hosts more than 80,000 projects.

The Windows Template Library (WTL), which allows developers to create graphic interfaces for Windows programs, is also in its third month of posting, and has received 19,000 downloads -- placing both projects in the top 5% of active projects on the site.
