Voltaire, a provider of high performance InfiniBand solutions, today announced that Sandia National Laboratories has selected Voltaire to support a 128 node InfiniBand cluster testbed at its Livermore, California, laboratory. This is the second Voltaire InfiniBand cluster deployment at Sandia and represents the continued collaboration between the two organizations on large-scale InfiniBand projects.
Linux Networx, a provider of complete cluster solutions, delivered the Evolocity II high performance computing cluster to Sandia consisting of 256 Intel? Xeon processors and uses Clusterworx? and ICE Box? cluster management tools from Linux Networx. Voltaire will deliver InfiniBand hardware and software. Voltaire?s InfiniBand solutions, featuring advanced I/O and fabric management capabilities enable supercomputing sites like Sandia to significantly improve the performance and efficiency of server clusters for HPC applications.
