Arkeia to debut server backup tool

Arkeia Corp. of Carlsbad, Calif., announced today a new server backup tool called Arkeia Server Backup that targets enterprise departments that backup to a single tape drive.

The product handles remote administration and operation, simultaneous parallell backup and restore, automatic multiflow management, incremental and differential backups, log visualization by backup and a disaster recovery module.

The product also backs up database servers with plug-ins available for Lotus, Oracle, DB2 and MySQL.

The Linux Disaster Recovery module, meanwhile, restores a Linux machine from scratch if it is stolen or damaged.

Server Backup is available in two versions, one for $290 and a disaster recovery edition for $890. Demonstrations are available for download.
