Description:
Path Scale Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., announced the availability of its new suite of high-performance compilers for the AMD Opteron processor. Opteron is a 32-bit compatible 64-bit processor.
PathScale develops technology aimed at improving the performance of Linux clusters, in particular on applications like complex physical modeling, EDA simulation, molecular modeling, biosciences, computational chemistry, rendering, resource optimization, decision support and data mining.
PathScale said that its C, C++ and Fortran 90/95 compilers beat industry standard benchmarks for performance of real application code by 40%.
PathScale added that the Compiler Suite beta version would be distributed to beta testers by the end of January. A second beta customer distribution will be made during February.
License quantities and volume discounts are based on the number of developers using the compiler and the total number of compile servers being deployed. The production version of the PathScale Compiler Suite can be ordered starting on March 1, 2004 and will be generally available from PathScale and its reseller partners in late March.
