Mark R. Hinkle is a well-known expert on Windows-to-Linux migration, whose columns appear regularly in industry publications. He is the CIO and Vice President of Win4Lin (www.win4lin.com), a software company that specializes
in Windows-to-Linux migration software.
Mark was also a member of the formation board of the Desktop Linux Consortium. Before entering the world of Linux software, he was the director of technical support for EarthLink, where he managed a 2,500-person technical support staff, which supported over 4 million Windows desktop
users. His experience and passion lies in helping Windows users obtain the same or better satisfaction with Linux as they have had with other operating systems while improving their quality of computing life. He is currently
