Peter van der Linden
Peter van der Linden is one of the world's foremost computer book authors. His latest book, Peter van der Linden's Guide to Linux, describes the popular operating system for which Microsoft Windows is an alternative.
Van der Linden has been in the computer industry for more than twenty-five years, working as a software developer for companies ranging from start-ups to Apple and Sun Microsystems. At Sun, he led the Solaris port to the first sub-$1000 workstation, the Sun Blade 100. He has designed software and programmed computers in Europe and on both coasts of the USA.
He currently works in Silicon Valley, California as a software consultant specializing in Linux and open source software. A graduate of Yale University, van der Linden is also author of The Official Handbook of Practical Jokes (NAL-Penguin, 1991). |
