QUESTION POSED ON: 16 July 2007
I read your article on the use of OpenOffice vs. Google Docs vs. Microsoft Office 2007 with interest. I have read a lot about OpenOffice, but I am having trouble trying to figure out what sort of market share OpenOffice has. Do you know? It seems to have been adopted by the Belgian government and others, but what sort of percentage of all office documents does this represent? Is there any good data?

Market share, in the US and internationally, is hard to track. This page from the OpenOffice.org wiki offers an idea of some known places where it has been adopted.
