Could you please give me some advice for installing OpenOffice 1.1 tar file with Redhat 9? I am finding it difficult after extracting and changing to the directory.

I haven't had a chance to install 1.1 and RedHat 9 but if you're having problems with the 1.1 file included with the OS, download a different one from www.openoffice.org. -- the final official version of 1.1 has just been announced. Then you simply need to look for an executable file named setup, and the installation is really easy to run. If you have problems after that, check that you have the right permissions to run the install, and for any troubleshooting information in the archives of the users@openoffice.org mailing list available on www.openoffice.org.
