What's up with the next Samba release?

I keep hearing that a new Samba release is coming. Is it? When? What will it include?

Samba-3.0.0 went into release candidate 1 on August 16th. I suggest you check out the official announcement at:

Expected release date for gold is end of August -- providing it passes QA and all show-stopper defects are closed out.
