Only time will tell. I use Ubuntu in my day-to-day operations without issue. If you are worried about support, stick with Canonical's Long Term Support (LTS) release distributions. The first one, Dapper Drake, was released in June of 04. The last LTS release was Hardy Heron, and it was released only two months ago, in April of 08.
