I have pushed the reset button on an Intel while in CDE, and I had the surprise that, when I try to fsck the /, it says "Can't open /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0". What am I missing here?? Thanks.

I am assuming you are using Solaris here. Try << fsck >> with the raw devicename, not / # fsck /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0

If this doesn't work, try booting off CD. Then:
# 1. fsck /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0
# mount /dev/dsk/c0d0s0 /mnt
