Missing chart data option

I have various graphs that I created on a dedicated spreadsheet for charts alone by clicking and pasting from another spreadsheet. Why can't I access the Chart Data option (by right clicking after double clicking the chart) to some graphs? Some of the other graphs have the Chart Data option, but a majority have none. What is the possibility that that option has been turned off?

I'm afraid the charting function isn't that solid a product. I'd suggest just clicking in the blank area of the document to start over and go through the clicking steps again. Also you might want to download the alpha and beta versions of the new charting tool from www.openoffice.org as they are produced.
