Is there a Linux tool to filter e-mail for spam and viruses?

My current setup for mailing is that clients use MS Outlook Express to send mail to a Windows-based SMTP relay mail server (IMAIL), and they use IMAP to receive the mails. The server does not seem to filter spam and virus mails to a great extent. Is there any tool on Linux in between to check spam & virus mails and filter them? Having such a tool will help me a lot in my road map towards Linux for my company.

Yes, you can use 'spamassassin' (free open source) and some of the Linux anti-virus solutions, such as F-Secure (might not be free) to build a server for anti-spam and anti-virus.
