How does MySQL compare with Microsoft SQL?
I'm beginning to hear more and more about MySQL but I don't know much about it. How does it compare with Microsoft SQL Server in terms of functionality, administrative support and price?

MySQL is like Microsoft Access in that it does not have as rich data base technology like cursor support. For simple database tasks MySQL works great, but when more complex databases are needed you might want to look at products such as CA's Advantage Ingres, Oracle, or UDB.
