I am a physician, trying to set up Coppermine photo gallery for my practice. I am a novice with this, but have been able to install Apache2 PHP and now must install MySLQ to get Coppermine installed. When I try to install it (126.96.36.199/coppermine/install.php), I get the following error: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061). I've tried everything I know, but that's not enough! Can you please help?
There are a variety of reasons why this can happen, and rather than spell them all out with the hopes that one will stick, I'll refer you to http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/can-not-connect-to-server.html in the MySQL Online Reference Manual.

In a nutshell, make sure the server is running, make sure the post is not firewalled, and if connecting with unix sockets, make sure the socket file has permissions for writing.
