Q

Dialup modem updates

Some of us are still limited to using dialup modems for Internet access. Are there 64 bit internal modems on the market? Are there driver/firmware updates for existing modems?

Modems are dying out fast, being replaced by broadband and better access around the world. If you are stuck using a modem connection to reach the Net, but you have a modern 64-bit system, then your options are limited.

Linuxant offers some 64-bit modem drivers at http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads.php. They work with the most popular modem chips, and offer a free trial of a low-speed driver, with upgrade to the full-speed version at modest cost.
