I want to use a Linux server for Internet sharing according to selected users' IPs, selected groups, regardless of the operating system used in the LAN. How can I do this?

You best solution for that is to use SQUID. The home page for the Squid project is at http://www.squid-cache.org. You will find a detailed configuration guide from the home page for this project.

Squid can be configured to permit access based on access control lists that can specify host addresses, network addresses, user names and much more.
