Q

Altering security attributes under SELinux

Security expert James Turnbull explains where to find the policy files for Red Hat's SELinux if you want to alter the attribues of an object.

How do you change the security attributes of an object/subject under Mandatory Access Control?

It depends on the Mandatory Access Control system being used. Generally, there is a central control point. In SELinux on Red Hat, for example, it's controlled by the policy files in the /etc/selinux directory.
