I have a DNS and Mail Server running on Red Hat Linux 7.1 The power cable was removed from the machine by mistake twice. When I reboot the system it give me this error:
var : unexpected inconsistency,Run Fsck manually (i.e without -a or -p options); an error occured during the file system check; dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot; When you leave the shell give root password for maintenace (or type control-d for normal startup) devhda2-10
I changed to single user mode by typing the command "init i" and, upon running the command fsck on reboot I still get the same error. Can you help?

Try this command:
e2fsck -f /dev/devhda2-10
It is similar to fsck, but specifically intended for Linux Second Extended Filesystems, and is documented for Red Hat installs.
Good luck!
